SUPER BOWL

Just a note about the SUPER BOWL............... Dominic Rhodes #33 went to Cooper here in Abilene,,,and we used to watch him play HS. ball. There were rumors that he had kin folks in KC----the Rhodes u know. Also Justin Snow is from here too. Roper went to his football camps here in town. Then the Manning on the BEARS graduated from ACU, here. Dominic's mom and Justin's moms were on the local news tonite.
Ofcourse we're rooting for THE COLTS , here at this house. Gary likes Peyton Manning , anyway.

HERE WE ARE ...THERE IS GARY'S TEAM FIXING TO START . THE NEXT PICTURE IS MY SCHOOL BOARD TEAM,,,PLUS THE SUPT,AND PRINCIPALS......... Gary , Roper and I all participated on three different teams tonite at the Booster club dodgeball tournament. It was a first for all of us. We had a great time. Gary's team came in 4th ,,,,He had a bunch of redneck hands off his oil field job on his team...they were tough and mean.

Here is a picture of my friends son who was killed in Iraq in November right after Thanksgiving. I can remember picking him up from day care. This was the last picture they received from him. He also called his dad and told him he KNEW he wasn't coming home. He was killed at a check point when a car blew up when he stopped them.He told his mom in one of his last calls he would really need some help when he got home......to deal with what he had been thru. My friend has another son who also enlisted the same time. He is in Japan . Please pray and keep in mind the moms , dads....wives......& family when you here of someone dying over there. My friend is really having a hard , hard time. She said though, Craig felt like that is where he needed to be and felt like he was making a difference. He left a wife, and a 2 yr. old. boy. He is the blonde headed one.

FINALLY WE HAD SNOW THIS MORNING. SCHOOL WAS CANCELLED SO ROPER WENT TO WORK WITH HIS DAD . HERE IS THERE USUAL ROUTINE WITH FEEDING THIER COW/CALF HERD. I INCLUDED A PICTURE OF A COW JUST CALVING ---BUT IT DIDN'T MAKE IT TO THIS BLOG... I CAN HEAR SHANE NOW.....BROKEBACK..YADA YADA YADA

WELL i THOUGHT THE PICTURES WOULD SHOW MORE ICE THAN THIS. THIS WAS ABOUT 9 THIS MORNING . THE GROUND WAS CRUNCHY WITH ICE...IT DID GET ABOVE FREEZING TODAY. ANOTHER SYSTEM HAS JUST BLOWN IN AND IT JUST SLEETING LIKE CRAZY. THERE IS NO SCHOOL TOMORROW..........I KNOW ITS MARTIN LUTHER KING DAY BUT HERE IN HAWLEY WE HAVE NEVER TAKEN THAT DAY OFF. THEY ALWAYS SAY IT BECAUSE WE ONLY HAVE 2 BLACK KIDS IN OUR SCHOOL.... NONE THE-LESS WE DON'T TAKE CINCO DE MAYO , EITHER....HA...OUT OF 765 KIDS ABOUT 15-MEXICANS.

Pig show

Okay since the blog is alittle idle at this time I decided to put something on. Today in Hawley we had our city show. Roper showed his three pigs. If you noticed in the picture all the pigs look alike. This is the Hampshire class. A judge judges them by the way their body mass ...and what thier ham looks like. These kids get these pigs around Oct. and start feeding them and then in Jan . we show them at the city, county, and on to the San Antonio Livestock and Rodeo Show, FT. Worth,& HOUston . It is our hobby and we really get into it. Then at the big shows they get weighed and put on the BIG TRUCK to become your bacon and ham . Ofcourse I cried last year ...maybe Iwon't this year but I doubt. it. Oh by the way u do get a check for whatever pigs are going for a pound. Anyway this is what we are busy doing at this time of the year. It keeps us busy and the kids learn responsibility: these animals have to be fed everyday , twice a day, and pens cleaned out as well. Gotta go watch the COWBOYS.
