Don't know if any of you are fan of the TV show The Biggest Loser.  Today I got to meet Ali Vincent, the first female winner of The Biggest Loser.  She was sooo nice, full of energy and life and inspirational.  She was visiting us as part of her Famous Footwear tour and  to thank us for the work we do in the NICU.

Deer in the yard

Putting this on the blog for Jessie and Jackie. We had a baby fawn in the front yard a few weeks ago. It was there a few hours and mama didn't come for it. We were worried because it was so hot. Neighbors were stopping by and taking pictures. We knew the mama would not come near it, so we moved it back behind the house near the greenbelt. Happy ending, mama came .







Then last Sunday, another fawn was in our back yard behind the fenced area. This one was also laying there for a few hours in the sun. But we left it alone as we figured no one would disturb it until the mama deer came back.
They are so cute when they are little. They grow up and come back and eat your bushes.

All the wheat seems to be cut around here ... last Sat . they finished around our house. Love this time of the year.

here is Roper's latest pair of chaps he made. He sells these for around $350 . I think he does a wonderful job. I could never stitch like that ..all by hand. The guy waited about 3 months for these . Roper worked on them in his spare time while he was in school and this summer.

29th bday wknd in Santa Barbie

My boyfriend, Nate, and I went to Santa Barbara County this weekend to celebrate my 29th Birthday. Yes, Lindsay is almost 30! Does that make you feel old? We went to private wine tastings (the area is known for their pinot), hiked up 2700 feet to Gaviota Peak which overlooked all of the area (the clouds over the ocean looked like marshmallows) and went to Ballard Inn ( a top Bed & Breakfast, check it out) for an amazing dinner.
I thought Big Sur and Monterrey were great. And after visiting the central coast, it's just as good. California is just so beautiful! No other state like it.
