GAS PRICES
Everyone is feeling the effects of the high gas prices. It really amazes me how it can fluncuate in a week. Right now the going rate around Abilene is around $3.89, but here in Hawley where people flock from Abliene and surrounding areas it is down to $3.79. In KC....... I beleive it is around $3.90something.
I am sure we are doing different things to try to conserve the money leaving our pockets . I for one don't just run to Abilene everyday which is about a 15 mile trip for me. I make it count when I go. I think twice......... before I decide to take a long trip. My Tahoe only get 17.4 /gal so there.... Gary had a 1 ton diesel Dodge that was getting around 9 or so with his welder on. He traded it in for a Chev. duramax diesel .(It is suppose to be better on mileage) Now he is driving an older Dodge for his welding truck. You do realize the diesel is HIGHER than gas...its like 4.25 or so . That is what Roper uses also for his truck. His dad pays his diesel but he is really trying to go less up and down the road. I figure I may see my family in the metroplex some day!!! I will just have to go up on my haircuts and etc. to afford the gas !!!
Better go ...gotta make my trip to Abilene to pick up supplies.

Bloogging from Irene
I looked up the word blog and it means what I thought. It means you can write your thoughts or ideas ...in a daily or frequent manner. So I proceed.
It feels like Summer here... even the breeze is hot. This past week was a busy week for us here in Hawley. Mom and dad came down to Abilene and mom got her some new teeth. I am lucky that they are still able to drive to Abilene to take care of some of thier task. The traffic is busier than you think in Abilene and so I do worry about them. We are working on getting Dad some hearing aids. Its amazing on how much he has missed out on and is missing out on by not being able to hear. He was amazed too when we had a trial pair on.
Roper is officially a Senior and he doesn't let me forget it . Its hard to believe that its gone by so fast. He is thinking on colleges so hopefully he will take his grades alittle more seriously. He is sitting out of class of 60 at around No. 20th.
Last night it was such a nice evening here in West Texas. We cooked steaks,,and the works and enjoyed frozen margarita's . There is nothing like life in the country.
Time for vacations... should have lots of pics on the blog. Not from me ,, it doesn't look like we will be getting one .We are wanting to find a place to park our RV on the Colorado River out by Lmapassas in Sulfur Springs Park. It is so peaceful and beautiful there. It would be a great place for Dad to go fishing off the bank. It sits about 5 miles on a dirt road off the highway!! I will be taking some days off in a few days for a school board convention in San Antonio on the riverwalk.
Well I'm done........ don't let me be a loner on this blogging thing.

Ryan's Graduation Weekend
Here are a few pictures from Ryan's graduation on Friday, May 16. We celebrated at Linda and Tom's the next night. We had lots of friends and family in attendance. Good food and a few drinks......were had by all! We would like to really thank all of you who attended. We showed a video montage of Ryan's 21 years and oh my...where have the years gone? Ropers Prom
How funny that Tamra's prom was the same night as Ropers! Here he is in his Thrift store prom attire. His girlfriend couldn't go cause she was playing in a softball bi-district championship game at the same time . (SHE WON-BY THE WAY) . He went to the thrift store and bought this bannanna yellow jacket and a blue and yellow tie... we couldn't tie the tie so he didn't tie it till he got to the prom. Crazy kid!! Oh by the way ...I did offer to go buy him something nice ...but he didn't want to go cause his girlfriend couldn't go...
