Congratulations to John Brian Escobar! Today we celebrated his high school graduation with family and friends at the Saginaw Community Center. We are all so proud of his accomplishments including his class ranking of #6 out of over 500 students in his class!! Congrats also to his parents, John and Vienna who have worked so hard to prepare him for his college life. Many of us have experienced the emotions of sending your child off to college away from home and we send them our love and prayers. He will be attending Texas A&M in College Station in the fall. John Brian is also the grandson of Eloise Maldonado. Congrats JB!!

A change in the Blog

Hello everyone who occasionally looks at the Martinez Family Blog. If you keep looking at the same old picture of Greg since his last birthday, I decided to make a change. Here is a picture of us that was taaken a few years ago at Eric Martinez' house.
We resisted Facebook for a long long time. but soon most of the family news was going on FB and not on the regular blog. So we capitulated and moved on since Facebook was easier than Blogger to post and upload pictures to the family blog.

For those who have resisted, it is not that terrible to block out Facebook postings that you don't like and still read what you want, especially just the Martinez Happenings. As you may now know it is almost impossible to keep your privacy especially if you read recently "Big Brother" reads all your messages, phone and all other, Facebook will not make any difference in your privacy.

If you would like to join Facebook, simply go to Facebook.com with your regular email and create a password. In order to join the Martinez Facebook Blog group, send an email to Irene Smith (Eva's daughter) at: irenesmith41@gmail.com and ask for her to add you to the Martinez Family Blog.

In the meantime, I will try to post things as I can so those of you can still see some of the "happenings".

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG

Today is my number one son's 47th Birthday. I don't know if anyone is still reading this blog, but it is also on Martinez Family Facebook Blog. Happy Birthday to Greg today. I think he already celebrated over this past weekend.

GET WELL BETTY AND EVA

A Get Well Card for our Martinez Family Members who have been ill recently.

Betty Martinez, who has been ill for the last few weeks with a low blood count and has had to start Kidney Dialysis and is slowly recuperating.

Eva Flores has just had Gall Bladder Surgery and is recuperating at Hendrick Memorial Hospital in Abilene.

Let us pray for their recovery.  Thanks to their caregivers who have gone through a lot with them as well.

Kirk's birthday celebrartion
